International Puzzle Rating Association

About IPRA

The International Puzzle Rating Association gives adult puzzlers a common language for expected solve difficulty.

Manufacturers often describe difficulty differently, leaving customers to guess whether a 1,000-piece puzzle will feel relaxing, demanding, or punishing. IPRA evaluates the artwork and the production cut under one documented method, assigns a traceable Rating ID, and publishes a record customers can verify.

Version 1 is deliberately narrow. It covers only 1,000-piece adult jigsaw puzzles so the scale can be calibrated against comparable products and real solve experience.

What IPRA does not claim

An IPRA rating is not a judgment of artistic quality, manufacturing quality, safety, age suitability, or overall value. It measures expected solve difficulty within the defined scope.
